ODFC is partnering with MLS Go

ODFC is partnering with MLS Go, Major League Soccer’s official youth program, to bring grassroots soccer to three regions of Virginia. The MLS Go – Champions League offers a fun, educational experience for players Under-6 to Under-12 at ODFC South (South Riding/Aldie/Stoneridge), ODFC North (Round Hill/Purcellville), and ODFC West (Front Royal/Warren County). Our program provides professional training, weekend games, and clear development pathways for all young athletes, supporting access for every player regardless of background or experience.

ODFC Cesena 2013/14B 1st Team to Join UPSL Academy

ODFC Cesena USA is excited to announce its acceptance into the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) Academy expanding its commitment to providing additional developmental opportunities within regional soccer programs for our players. The UPSL Youth Academy operates as a promotion-relegation league with a focus on player development and will include top-level clubs in the region.

Beginning in the upcoming fall season, ODFC Cesena USA will field a UPSL Academy team in the 2013/14 boys age group. The UPSL Academy presents competitive regional and national fixtures, serving as valuable recruitment platforms for professional clubs and collegiate programs. ODFC Cesena USA will participate in the UPSL Academy DMV Conference. Tryouts for our ODFC Cesena UPSL Academy teams will be held each fall and late winter/spring season with the following division structures; U17 (2009 & 2010), U15 (2011 & 2012), U13 (2013 & 2014).

The fall season takes place from September to November, followed by playoffs in December and January. The spring season will run either March-June or May-June for different divisions, with playoffs scheduled for June-July.

The UPSL Academy program is designed to complement existing club teams that compete in other sanctioned state and regional leagues, offering an enhanced level of competition and showcase opportunities.

Italian Soccer Federation Coaches (FIGC) To Run Summer Academy!

As the excitement for the upcoming season builds, ODFC Cesena FC USA is thrilled to offer a unique opportunity for our young athletes to immerse themselves in high-level soccer development. By merging world-class coaching expertise and a training philosophy inspired by professional European leagues, participants will experience the perfect blend of skill enhancement and tactical growth. This pre-season academy promises to set the foundation for excellence both on and off the field.

The event for our 2011-2015 girls will be held at Byrnes Ridge Park Field #5 from August 4th-8th , from 5:30-8:30PM. It will follow the format of the WPSL International Combine for Semi-Pro/Professional women players.

The academy will not only focus on individual skills but will also emphasize teamwork and strategic understanding to ensure participants develop into well-rounded players. With tailored drills, dynamic exercises, and interactive sessions, athletes will gain insights into core soccer principles. In addition, they will be exposed to advanced concepts employed at professional levels, instilling a greater sense of confidence and adaptability on the field.

The academy's coaching team is composed of highly experienced professionals who bring unparalleled expertise to each session. Among the notable figures leading the program is Coach Francesca Stancati , a distinguished mentor who embodies the pinnacle of soccer instruction. With a career spanning national and international arenas, her contributions to women's football have elevated countless players to their potential.

Paola Luisa Orlando , is a top-level coach with the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) and Italian Soccer Federation (FIGC). She has coached in Serie "A" and Serie "B", recently leading the women's team at Cosenza Calcio. She is also involved in the UEFA Playmakers Technical Project and holds a UEFA "A" Badge from FIGC.

ODFC Adds Jr. RTP+ to List of Programs!

The Jr. Rising Talent Program Plus or Jr. RTP + is a new addition to the program list at ODFC geared to provide more on-field time and skill development opportunities for our young players.

Same as our legacy Jr. RTP this program is designed for our Under-7 ( 2020-2021 ) players looking to expand their knowledge base and their inventory of skills throughout the year! Volunteer coaches will work closely with clubs’ professional staff to ensure

continuous and age-appropriate development.

Volunteer assistant coaches will receive FREE educational support from our partners at the United Soccer Coaches Association (USC) in the form of “grassroot” online courses.

ODFC is a firm believer that if we “Build on the Basics” the next generation of players will prosper!

Fall 2025: Looking Ahead!

ODFC has officially closed the spring 2025 season registration and have begun looking ahead to fall 2025!

It seems like only a short time ago that ODFC initiated the Soccer School to refocus the emphasis on structured learning for our youngest players. Now with a growth in numbers throughout the Soccer School Programs including Jr. RTP/Jr. RTP+ and RTP, ODFC will continue to develop the next generation of competitive athletes.

The ODFC Academy is the natural progression of an already successful educational program, the “soccer school”. Players invited to the Academy have been selected from our pool of soccer school participants many that have been with the club since they were 4 years old. Andy Vera, ODFC Club President contributes the Academy creation to the club’s tremendous growth, “ we always had the Academy in mind when the soccer school was created…we were just waiting for critical participation numbers to move ahead .” Mr. Vera went on to say, “ the academy program has nothing to do with making a coach successful or enhancing their resume…it’s about excellent coaches (trainers) being great teachers…its player and game-centric .”

The club has held tryouts in the past year and has filled seven (7) Academy teams including 3 teams in the 2013-14 age groups, two in the 2015 age group and two in the 2011-12 age groups. ODFC has also added "top-level" Academy coaches to instruct and develop all our players.

ODFC Cesena To Play in TLFC!

ODFC Cesena USA has been accepted to the "new" League FC (TLFC) and will compete in the “top-tier” of the league. The 1st team comes with a 2nd reserve team that will play in one of our local competitive leagues and will serve as the feeder team for the TLFC top team.

The TLFC is a new fastest growing pro-Development soccer league in the USA made up of 100+ clubs. At the highest level, the TLFC will ultimately lead to a true player pathway for collegiate or professional soccer opportunities.

ODFC is now a proud member of the TLFC and WPSL which now completes the development “pathway” for both the women’s and men’s program. Both programs begin at U5 with our Piccoli Amici (Little Friends) through high school and now college age players.

TLFC as an "ultra-competitive" valuable component in the redefining the system of soccer in the United States while simultaneously molding players for a successful future in professional soccer.

Fall 2025 Season Gearing Up!

Five years after its inception the ODFC Soccer School has seen rapid and extraordinary growth! The fall season will once again begin with the Soccer School fully staffed and with highly qualified coaches/directors managing every aspect of the program.

Little Friends and the Jr. RTP see a huge jump in registrations as parents and siblings see the benefits of the training and mentoring of their older children in the program. The Jr. RTP+ will provide more professional training time to our U7’s and specialized training for those interested in entering the Pre-Travel Cesena Academy!

The RTP players, over 40% have been with us since Little Friends, continue to develop and learn. The RTP will continue to provide to level training once/week this coming fall season for busy players involved in other weekly activities and want to participate in a more “relaxed” playing schedule.

This coming fall 2025 season ODFC will field add four (4) “new” Soccer School teams which form part of the Cesena Academy Program. This translates to an additional 60 players in 2006 through the 2014 age groups. Many of these teams will play in the Youth Premier Soccer League (YPSL) or in NCSL-REC applying all that is taught during the weekly professional training sessions. These teams will be closely supervised and developed with many teams providing the basis for our “new” travel groups being created for the 2025 soccer year.

The ODFC Soccer School objective continues to be to create a clear, concise and consistent pathway for players starting at the youngest age groups and progressing through their stages of development.
