ODFC U10 G Firestorm
ODSL

ODFC Firestorm is a new team that was formed in the summer of 2011 and plays in the Old Dominion Soccer League (ODSL). The team consists of rising U-10 girls, who have recently moved up from recreational soccer, and want to improve their soccer skills and play in a more challenging environment.  Our coaches are focused on developing individual player and team skills, teaching the importance of good sportsmanship, and most importantly, creating a fun and positive team experience.  Firestorm trains multiple days a week for the fall and spring season, and may also incorporate some winter indoor play, as well as summer camps.  In addition to our Fall and Spring regular season play, we may also play in one or two tournaments per season.  Our girls are rapidly developing as a team and are embracing the competitive spirit of the game.  They have proven to be amazing as individuals and teammates, and are all becoming close friends.  Our coaches and parents are extremely proud of our girls and the progress they’ve made in such a short time and we all look forward to future seasons of watching this team grow and develop.

ODFC U10 G Spirit-Blue
WAGS

The ODFC Spirit Blue was formed during the summer of 2010. The Spirit Blue are based in South Riding, VA, and participate in the Washington Area Girls’ Soccer League (WAGS). The team was formed to provide a competitive soccer experience for athletes in the Dulles South area of Loudoun Virginia that were born after Aug 1, 2001.

The team was formed in conjunction with the other Spirit teams to provide a challenging level of hometown soccer for girls in Dulles South. Emphasizing team work and skill development outside of an academy setting, the girls are able to form bonds by playing soccer together over an extended period of time and by being involved in activities off the soccer field as well. Coach John’s focus is on developing a team framework to expand the girls understanding of the game to better enhance their individuals skills. Practices are focused on learning the game, improving fundamentals, working as a team, and having fun. The team participates in the ODFC Player Development Academy, as well as other training programs during the year, including playing indoor winter soccer. The continuous training allows for both skills and friendships to grow. The long term goal of the team is to develop the girl’s athletic ability, understanding of teamwork and to prepare them for challenges as they grow.

ODFC U10 G Inferno
ODSL

ODFC Inferno was formed in the spring of 2010 with girls primarily out of the South Riding area. The team was created for 8-9 year old girls who have a passion for soccer and having fun.  The team’s philosophy is to be safe, have fun, and improve the girls’ soccer skills.  Coach Sbitan and his assistant coaches, Coach Freilich and Coach Kaplan, all believe in teaching the girls to play as a team.  The girls can only be successful if they play as a team and not as a collection of individuals.  The girls all love playing soccer and have become very close friends.  The league and club fits them perfectly as they are now surrounded by other girls that are strong soccer players, strive to get better, and play as a team.  Go Inferno!

ODFC U11 G Predators
ODSL

The ODFC Predators were formed in the Fall of 2010 to provide a higher level of soccer play for girls born on or after 08/01/00 living in the Dulles South area of Loudoun County.  Each of the girls on the team have many seasons of recreational soccer experience in addition to playing other sports.  The coaching staff believes that girls, especially at this age, should be allowed to participate in other sports in addition to soccer for athletic cross training depending on the level of scheduling conflicts.  The Predators train year round including indoor and summer camps.  In addition to our Fall and Spring regular season play we enter 2-3 tournaments each season.   The ODFC player development training is conducted with the girls together as a team and it provides additional individual instruction alongside their teammates.  Our team goal is to provide the girls a competitive travel soccer experience with emphasis on sportsmanship, individual player skill development, positioning/field awareness and creative team play fostering a love of and passion for the game.  The coaching staff includes former high school and collegiate soccer players that know and love the game.  We are committed to creating a positive and fun atmosphere while ensuring every girl learns the fundamentals and importance of team play.  If you are interested in learning more about the Predators, or to schedule a tryout, please contact Shawn McDonald at themcdonalds25867@verizon.net

ODFC U11 G Shockwave
WAGS

The ODFC Shockwave was formed in the spring of 2010. The team was created in order to provide a higher level of play for rising U10 girls in the Dulles South area of Loudon County. Each of the girls chosen to play for the team has many seasons of recreation soccer experience. Shockwave FC provides the girls with a challenge at a higher level of soccer. Coach Maddiex’s philosophy is to challenge the players and provide them with instruction to continue to progress. Preparing the girls for more advanced soccer is a key goal of the club. Winning is fun, but it is not the most important focus of the team. Making sure that the girls understand the game, improve their skills and that they have fun on the field, takes the forefront. The affiliation with the Old Dominion Football Club (ODFC) fit the Shockwave perfectly. The ODFC’s player development training enhances and reinforces the team’s goal of preparing the players for the next level of play. The girls have come together quickly and have bonded to form a tight unit on the field. In addition, the team’s parent social committee has made sure that the team’s bonding continues in many off field, social settings.
